Simple Messageboard

I've been asked by SMGT to look into a message board for the school's website for former pupils to be able to leave messages.

I want a simple one that just takes messages (no threads etc), that can be fully moderated and has to have a post approved before it's published.

Does anyone know of anything like this and have experience of using a simple board?

If Edugeek decided to they could do this with vBulletin and authorise every message posted. For the time, money and features vBulletin is a good piece of software. I've setup quite a few. You just need to decide how and where you're going to host it.

 

You could also (in theory) use LDAP to use existing usernames/passwords from Active Directory.

Thanks for the idea Michael, but it's far too complex for our simple needs! Just need something that is hosted externally and that can take simple messages.

You could always try a search for guestbook hosting. These were the first guys that turned up on mine - Guest-Book.co.uk - fully customizable free guestbook
