Okai, new fault with this new release (may have been in Q3.0.0 as well), Backup-Exec doesn't like it any more!

Last week on the Q2.whatever I was on my backups ran 110% perfect every day was bliss :)

Upgraded to the 3.1.0 and now Backup Exec says nope bugger off not doing them as they don't have a Windows Agent on them install it and it will work etc, so there is something in this newer version which makes it think its a real Windows Server and not one that doesn't need a Windows Agent :(

As I say its ran perfectly with the 2.5.whatver it was before the 3 series so its something new with the 3 series that makes it go wrong, so a warning to any Backup-Exec users check them carefully as I've now no backups off the thing :( Maybe the same with other similar products perhaps as well.

I was backing up from them via UNC path so \\SAN.IP.ADDY\SHARENAME which was working perfectly until now :(

I've always had issues with BE giving me errors about the agent not being installed but it's still always actually backed up the data (differential backups via the modified date never worked though) with no major issues. I'll be able to provide more info once I've updated at the end of the week if this isn't resolved by then (BE 10d here, don't laugh).

EDIT: John, have you got 'Enable selection of default shares' and 'Enable selection of user shares' ticked, and have you run a credentials test against the S7000?

Might want to apply this one sooner rather than later. My 7410 crashed on me this morning (3 mins downtime, brought itself back up) with a Deadlock: cycle in blocking chain error. According to the Q3.2 release notes this is CR 6884892 and is now fixed. Typical that I get hit by the problem on the day the fix comes out...
