[fedora] wget and MS ISA Server HELP!!!!

Evening All!

 

Right ive been working at this on and off for 2 whole days now, and rite...im actually starting to get a huge headache cuz of it lol

 

First of all...I installed Ubuntu and that just would not go on our network at all, it would not connect to the internet...NOTHING!

 

2nd, installed Fedora today and right, it can ping internally, and it can ping externally (google.com etc)

 

now when i run wget from the cmd line, i get a 407 error: authentication required... now in an ideal world i would turn off authentication on the ISA server, BUT i dont really want to do that,

 

Any way of authenticating myself to the ISA Server? Anybody helppppp!!

Set your proxy in environment variables, or pass them directly to wget:

Thanks for that - the wget would be useful but setting the proxy enviroment would be very useful, but no idea how to do it? can you give me any pointers? Sorry to be a pain!

Make a file called .wgetrc in your home directory and put in the confirmed as working http_proxy= line and then try wget.

 

If you want to do it for all users, edit /etc/wgetrc.
