PEO Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Does this look ok or complete cack? Opinions and suggestions most welcome.
SC-UK Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I think it looks quite good but isn't very easy to read at all. Might just be my tired eyes though! 1
PEO Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 Cheers, I'm thinking of doing a version 2.. I started to get a little bored of it and struggled for ideas
SC-UK Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 It's always the same when you have been working on something like that for so long. You need other's opinions as what started as a great idea starts to look rather bland to you after long enough! I think it's a great idea though, just as I say, I found it slightly difficult to read and I have perfect eyesight, no problems reading anything, just a little tired at the moment! 1
kmount Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I like it, it's a little tough to read but it's arty stuff so I'd expect it to be less than straight forward! 1
tech_guy Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 It's brill but what about on just a plain white background to make it easier to read? 1
laserblazer Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 You don't need to be able to make out every letter to know what it says, that's what art is all about . Kids will love it. 1
Little-Miss Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I like it, tis a little hard to read... Department is clear enough. Im personally not sure about the m in welcome and the T in to... 1

PEO Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 I'm playing around with diffrent back grounds, I was thinking dark hard wood floor with a desk lamp shining light down on the text. I have to agree with the comments, some of the text is difficult to read, maybe I can improve with drop shadows.
PEO Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 the 'h' in 'the' is not quite what I was going for... Thnk I will do that again.... just been out to buy some smarties to take a photos of the diffrent colours
kmount Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 just been out to buy some smarties to take a photos of the diffrent colours Yes, because that's your excuse
SC-UK Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Strange thing to say, and I don't know if this was intentional or not, but the "art" in "depARTment" is a lot lot clearer than the word Art itself! 1
kmount Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Perhaps using those simpler letters have A r t down the left hand side in the empty space, thin horizontal line to break it to the right , and then move 'to' onto the second line so you can either see the 'easy' Art or read the more complex but quite pretty and beautiful message. 1

Valid point... I didn't see that at first... probably because I spent to much time on it and eating sweets lol Will try and make it clear... If all faits I will do it again. I've made some school boy errors on this... Pleased I posted it on here for feedback
kmount Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I've made some school boy errors on this... Pleased I posted it on here for feedback To the contrary, I think you've woken some old IT eyes up this morning to something fun and pretty looking 1
PEO Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 A little diffrent... Im thinking of doing printed ticker tape down the left side for the menu
mattmoo Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Personally i dont like it as i prefer clean designs and its a bit cluttered with all the different materials but i do agree with what others said, depending on the kids ages that its aimed at, i am sure they will love it. Matt
EduTech Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Fridge Magnets Sound Good! Arrange it on your fridge that take a picture! BINGO But that second version is much better and much much easier to read well done Any smartys left? James.

Matt Yep its not something I would do normally but I said to the art department.... what ever you want. I will be showing them tomorrow what I've done to make sure I'm on the same page. The whole thing will be done again and tidied up.
