I'm looking for a new CMS for our public-facing school website, which is nothing to do with the VLE / Parent Portal / Learning Platform.

 

I know there is Joomla but can anyone recommend the best business-grade CMS, ideally based on .Net rather than PHP? We are looking to be able to delegate to HODs but retain editorial control and to customise widely.

The 2 .net based CMS systems that I would recommend would either be:

 

Dot Net Nuke or possibly SharePoint, depending on requirements & licensing. Either would allow you to delegate responsibilities to other members of staff whilst allowing you to maintain overall control of branding & site management.

Personally I find Joomla is overkill for a school website. Not to mention rather clunky and bloated.

 

I've heard of Dotnetnuke I imagine got the idea from phpnuke, but never used it myself so I can't offer anything more than a name and link
