We've been once again asked by the lovely people at PC Advisor magazine to contribute to the EducateIT BETT magazine. So if you fancy getting your name in print and spreading you knowlege around please post here your ideas for articles. I think UMPCs and W7/2008 R2 may be good topics as well as more open source and Mac entries too. Over to you guys.

Any EduGeek member can get involved although we ask for articles that are as vendor neutral as possible.

The magazine also has excellent advertising opportunities at incredibly competitive rates IIRC.

I have been inspired to write about multiseat computing. Pros/Cons. The gfs school has just had loads put in so good testing ground.

Sound like a suitable topic?

i'd like to do something but don't think i'm particularly knowledgable about anything in any sort of depth.

writing skills okay though.

any ideas for topics ...?

How about something from either an international angle or MIS angle that would be good.

Also as well as as doing green IT article I said I would join up with Karl and do a article on Educate Not Restrict.

You mean teach pupils, not 'strangle them no tmatter how much you feel you need too'?

I would like to get involved in this competition and base my article around Parental Access and the technologies out there which are designed to help build on pupil attendance/behavour, progress, attainment, special needs -Obviously I would create it as vendor neutral as possible :-)

How about the dangers of mobile technology to child safety. I dont mean just the obvious wifi signal but all the java and browers that are giving unrestricted internet to the child.

I've decided on a nice security related article outlining the differnces between viruses, spywear and malware, something that many teachers lump together as 'viruses' and have no protection against. It should be a revelation to many!

No i thought it was pretty good, but MIS is a scary topic. Just thought i'd ask the field.

@russdev - are you liking the angles at the moment or something? Tri-angles, MIS-angles.... :D

Hi all,

What about including a look at the "attempts" at VLE's...Kaleidos/Sharepoint, Moodle et all. There's a little bit more conversation but not enough action (baby), from some LEA's as there's serious fear from a lot of Primaries about what's involved - It could then link nicely into a cloud computing article about what happens next.

Just a thought....:)
