e_g_r Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) Any views on this? Are Ramsys doing the IT or will it be Capita? Edited August 24, 2009 by e_g_r caught up with other threads
FN-GM Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 How did you find. It was nice of them to tell us...
e_g_r Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 Thought i'd google it and found this link Rochdale BSF win for Carillion - News - Project Datafile

the_mighty_boosh Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Definitely Ramesys. Been watching this for a while as I don't get told much by the school.
e_g_r Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Join the club. Sadly it also looks like the end of your Novell network
the_mighty_boosh Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Sadly it also looks like the end of your Novell network Looks like it. Hopefully when term starts we should have more info on how it directly affects us. I don't know whether we'll still be based at our schools or if we'll be more mobile.
e_g_r Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Should imagine you'll stay onsite until your new build is completed as they will need your Novell skills sets until the new kit is in situe. Might speak to my contacts in Manchester where Ramesys won the IT contract.
broc Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Inspired Spaces have bid with a variety of ICT providers.... Right now, Carillion are building wave 3 BSF schools in County Durham. Their original bid included ICT supplied by Morse but this was switched to Carillion IT Services (CITS) very late in the bidding process. However, in July 2009 CITS was acquired by Capita....
e_g_r Posted September 8, 2009 Author Posted September 8, 2009 In Rochdale it is confirmed as CITS and Ramesys

The majority of the stuff they want to put it we already have anyway.
danhiley Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Alreet guys, have any of you actually gone through the process yet? we are due to go across in feb 2011 but have not heard from Ramesys yet about anything. They won't speak to us untill feb next year but are also slow on the equipment side and what there plans actually are for the school. Times ticking away and the time scales they have set are beginnign to worry us. Any of this ring true with anyone else?

PM me with your e-mail address and i will send you an e-mail address of someone who might be able to help. Z No their not!!! Heads and LEA not happy with Assimilate and looks like they will have to look elsewhere (Uniservity anyone?) Can't beleive we got to the signing on stage before we the customer got to see Assimilate only to find out that it dosn't do what the output specification asked for Good job a key decision maker is retiring, how their alowed to get away with this is beyond me
beeswax Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Two key features were missing from Assimilate; Parental Access and e-portfolios. There were a lot of other gaps in what this Learning Platform offered. No Mark Book, no ability for peer review, no learning journal, a very poor wizard for setting up courses (I think I counted 8-9 steps), the calendar only gave you the date, if you wanted the diary function you had to use Outlook (not integrated into Assimilate). There is a long list of stuff which I won't go into here, and I don't feel that if they started from scratch to incorporate all these features they'd have something fully tested and running by September 2010.
FN-GM Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 For those who are interested. At the meeting it was said that no actual contract with Carillion was signed, today this was completed. Construction work on Siddal Moor and Hollingworth starts in a months time.
garethEds Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Any views on this? Are Ramsys doing the IT or will it be Capita? My cousin lives in Rochdale. I'm from Bacup originally. Nothing to do with the convo - but thought everyone might like to know that important bit of information. GJE
