Simple question; when I schedule an install with WSUS can get a comptuer so shutdown after installing the updates? i.e. not re-start, and to shutdown if the updates don't require a re-start.

This isn't possible as far as I am aware. The only way would be to use a script/utility to shudown machines at a specific time.

If you specify install dates/times in WSUS, this will accelerate the installation of security updates. By then most if not all machines would have installed and rebooted, then your script could run 30 mins later and shutdown machines.

Yeah... I feared that was the case. I just hoped there was a "cleaner" solution.

PluI was trying to minimise the amount of time the comptuers are on unnecessarliy overnight without accidentally shutting them down when they are updating. Thus i was hoping there was a way for the computer to "shutdown after updating".

Oh well...

Set the install time for 18:00 and use your favourite shutdown solution for 20:00, and you win everything.
