cookie_monster Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Is anyone using SteadyState for netbooks? I'm thinking about using it to manage some XP Home netbooks that we will be using. Can you configure one client and then export the settings to use on another client? Cheers.
Guest Biccies Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I've used SteadyState on some of our laptops in the past. It was a bad move as far as i'm concered. We didn't put them on the domain initially because they were apparently going to be used offsite on school trips, etc. I found it to be a real pain to setup and administrate. However, it could have changed or I may have been doing something wrong. They are now happily sitting on the domain
gshaw Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Funny enough I'm just trying to decide what to do with our new fleet of NC10 Community Learning netbooks, with no connection to the domain it seems the easiest way even if it is a bit more clunky overall. Think I was gonna force a local mandatory profile on the machines for settings and use Steadystate \ HDGuard to keep the setup constant...
