musheer Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Hi every body Would anybody tell me exactly how many courses one must have done to call oneself a webdeveloper.
f21970 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 To call oneself a web developer it is not mandatory to have done any courses. A portfolio of substantive successful projects is required however. I don't just mean 5 or 6 page websites for local companies - I mean successful web designs and database driven websites such as e-commerce or CMS. It is necessary to display a range of experience - php, css, flash, etc.
alan-d Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I wouldn't say it was what or how many courses you have done. I think it's more of a case of knowing the subject very well and having a large portfolio of work and good references.
musheer Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 Brothers! Thanks for your replies, I have learnt Front Page, HTML, and some SEO, SEM. Which course should i learn now for becoming a Web Developer?
alan-d Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Brothers! Thanks for your replies, I have learnt Front Page, HTML, and some SEO, SEM. Which course should i learn now for becoming a Web Developer? Apache, SQL, MySQL, Php, Java and Flash are probably a good place to start but the list is endless.
featured_spectre Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 XML, DHTML, not used much anymore in terms of webdevelopment but are also useful to know. Also as said above, Apache, SQL, MySQL, Php, Java and Flash are also good to know.
ahuxham Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Could add AJAX and other RIA frameworks in there. Java is certainly on the rise, specially combined with GWT and AJAX.
