birchanger Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 While we're talking about Windows nostalgia ... Our receptionist recently handed me a laptop she found in a cupboard, the owner long forgotten. I plugged it in and it came up immediately. It's a GRiD 1660 with 5MB RAM and a B&W screen. It's running Windows 3.1 (en francais) and has Office 6. Anyone got a use for it? It's not in the best of nick, with a gaping hole where the floppy should be.
p858snake Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 (edited) Grayscale digital photo frame maybe? Example: KevinFreitas.net ~ homemade digital photo image picture frame how-to laptop mod and some more generalised links on the subject: Laptop Digital Picture Frames, Digital Photo Frames, Digital Photo Picture Frames If you have a old network card for it maybe you could do some sort of news reader where it pulls a simpleish html page. gshaw Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) I know I shouldn't as I barely got any room as is but sounds like it'd fit nicely in with my retro Toshiba laptop I got at home Edit: found pic here http://myyn.net/?65,grid-1660-vanha-kannettava Was hoping for even more retro Edited July 21, 2009 by gshaw
