Dell appear to be a log way ahead of the competition looking at the DDR versions they are now offering

Apple mac pro you get 6gb as standard and its DDR 3 ok you pay more but 6gb DDR 3 vs 2gb DDR 2

Well that's one way of getting rid of memory bottle necks. Run the RAM at a faster clock speed than the CPU. Hell it'd probably be quicker have no cache memory!

 

Now all we need is static DDR 11 for our SSD drives and we're sorted

The Dept Head at my old school had 2 OCZ SSD Drives in Raid in a laptop with i7 and 4gb Ram its the fastest thing ive ever witnessed!

Think those 1's are meant to be I as in DDR I or DDR II etc instead of the actual numbers like 1, 2, 3, etc. Think its called roman numerals but someone naffed it up

Yeah my brother managed to get a 30gb vertex from ebay for not much at all

 

the improvment in responsiveness of the OS is incredible even just from one! i really want one now! although anything bigger than 30gb would be nice

Makes 2 of us - would make my apple 2008 mac pro very nice and snappy whats the expected life time of SSD's ? ie MTBF
