Although I understand lifetime cost - other people don't - so I need a cheap capital cost. easy to run, can be setup as shared printer on a w2k3 server without need to sacrific small animals Any recomendations? regards Simon Simon

nsherin Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 We've found Dell 3130cn printers to be pretty good. About £330 to buy if I remember correctly and decent running costs. The drivers seem to be fuss-free too, which is a bonus - unlike the finicky Epsons that they replaced.

In that case the nearest I can see as a replacement is a the CP2020/CP2025 HP Color LaserJet CP2020 Printer series Small & Medium Business A little expensive, but misco have it listed with a £90 cashback deal. K.C.Leblanc Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 If you really want cheap have a look at the HP CP1510. We have one used stand alone, but we did test it on our setver and it seemed to work ok. I don't know how much use it gets, but we havn't had any issues with it. 1
docboggle Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 A Samsung clp 300? I would say avoid a Samsung CLP 300 at all costs. I bought two to use in our school, a few months apart so not part of the same batch, and they are now both useless. One lasted just over a year (just past the warranty) and the other lasted a year and a half. Both of them developed the same fault - fading printing on the left hand side. This is due to the imaging drum wearing out. I can understand this after a lot of printing, but one of them was barely used. The imaging drum costs £50 more than I paid for the printer!

HP Colour LaserJet CP1515N Colour Laser Printer - Misco.co.uk I was think along these lines to replace my HP2600's Hi Steve, The CP1515N is far from a good replacement for the HP2600, you will find that there is a bit of bad feedback on the net regarding this model so I would urge you to review this and mabye look at some of the Brother alternative, We have supplied a few CP1515N and have had a few moans and groans about failures and quality, If you would like any further info on the Brother range be sure to let me know,

Only drawback is the paper tray only holds 100 sheets at one time although you can get another tray at a later date which holds 500 sheets.
