Modified edu geek joomla pack

i am thinking of releasing all of my edits from sysman_uks release. I have seen a lot of people ask about turning the menu around, etc. I am curious would I be able to do that, legally and ethically would I?

 

I still have some work to do but I am curious of releasing it of course under the same license and maybe on launchpad.

 

I wanted to post and ask here first.

I think having a dedicated wiki page for css mods of the edujoomla packages would be better... as theres that much that can be done too it.

 

If you release individual css files (or packages) for each mod you would end up with LOADS as there are so many different combo's.

 

For example just menu mods that can be made:

 

Different color hover

Different color seperator

Right - left order

More menu items

 

Thats without thinking and your already looking at 4^4 'packages'

I would agree with mossj, You can utilise our wiki service and add all of your mod's to SYSMAN's Package, at least it will be much easier to find when users need help.

 

Also, many users do go to our wiki for information regading this stuff so it will be seen more that way then someone having to search through many threads that you would create.

i really meant for my 'customers'. sorry i have not replied i have been at work. sysman i will send you a message sometimes this weekend to discuss things lol. but like i said i was really referring to my 'customers'

Why cant you share it with us aswell and then point your customers to our wiki ?

that makes sense. I have go and find the things I have changed. For the most part I have commented them... but others I have not. The biggest thing I have changed is in the css to have rounded corners, the image on one line and the links below it along with having the links go left to right.

It makes perfect sense, you downloaded a open source package and then modified it. Surely sharing with the community you got it from is the way to go and encompasses what the Open Source movement is about.
