SpuffMonkey Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Just in case others have suffered with a lot of Java instability in ePortal - I have found that the following tweaks have made a positive difference - apply on the server that runs ePortal HKey_Local_Machine/Software/Apache Software Foundation/ProcRun 2.0/Facility Tomcat5/Parameters/Java - change JvmMs to decimal 128 and JvmMx to decimal 512
CyberNerd Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 excellent, any ideas what this hack does and why it stabalises eportal?
SpuffMonkey Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 I'd guess that it sets a max and min value for Java memory usage - perhaps this addresses some sort of memory leak - all I know is that since I applied it - ePortal has gone from crashing on most days to only crashing once in the last couple of weeks. Hope it works for you too - though the usual caveats about editing the registry at your own risk yada yada...
michael2k6 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 These keys can be changed, in my opinion - but i believe the optimum setting is about 1/3 of your total memory.
mjellings Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Michael is right, I was told that the max value should be set to approx. 1/3 of your total physical memory. Thanks
