  1. Hi There, In most cases I've come across ePortal has run better when split between 2 servers. Obviously this is related to the hardward involved and specs of each server, i.e. it'll run better one big powerful server as opposed to two lower spec servers. Generally speaking however splitting them up does help. The registry tweaks people have mentioned may prove a good idea. Additionally as long as you allocate sufficient resources to the virtual pc there shouldn't be any problem running it from a virtual machine. Thanks. Matt
  2. Michael is right, I was told that the max value should be set to approx. 1/3 of your total physical memory. Thanks
  3. Hi Simon, Although it is possible to send emails from ePortal, it doesn't quite work how you would like. By editing the settings.xml file you can get ePortal to connect to a POP3 and SMTP server to send/receive emails within ePortal itself (being available under the Main Menu | Messaging | Check Emails and Send Email etc). This is quite a nice feature when set up correctly and if you can get teachers ePortal username/password to match their email username/password they don't even need to log in again as it tries these first. If their username/passwords don't match the a simple login page appears. Each person needs an email recording against their record within Facility. Using this staff can send emails to students and each other etc. However, I haven't seen anything yet which allows automatic email general based on certain circumstances, e.g. the creation of a student event. However that would be a nice feature. I'm sure it could be added but would require access to the source code for ePortal. Thanks Matt
