Toshiba L300D - 224 Any Good?

Hi, we are looking at buying 16 of Toshiba Satellite Pro L300D-224 Laptop - Laptops at Ebuyer . £350 on ebuyer, with £50 cashback, so great price. But are they any good? Would you recommend them?

Ram looks a bit pokey but thats nothing the £50 cashback couldn't solve, otherwhys looks good to me.

I just bought a few L300's (not D) and upgraded them to 2gb ram, they're rather impressive. after cashback we paid just over 300 each - well worth it.

I have a few disks around here that can cure that -

 

- Xubuntu

- Windows 7 RC

- Windows XP MVLP

 

Might even have some Dos/Win3.1 floppies around here

Be interesting when XP really does stop being supported by MS, if it's not already. My guess is we'll be using it for a good while.

Insight have got the L300-293 for £347 with £50 cashback and a free extra gig of ram - it also has a core 2 T5870.

We bought 10 of them a couple of week ago, with 3 year edu warranty and the start packs (bag, mouse & USB hub). It came pre-loaded with Vista, however we got a XP downgrade disc in each box.

 

All round it's a sturdy laptop, however I'm basing on having them for just under 2 weeks (however we have other L300's around which are realiable). It is not flashy, but a good work horse

 

Basing on how we're finding them (so far...) I would say it's a good laptop to get.
