Right Click -- Send To

When users right-click a file and go to Send To, they are only presented with the 3 1/2 inch floppy drive. How can I get the bits like Desktop, Compressed File, etc back? Or can I create a template which they can look at?

If I go into a user's area under Documents & Settings, I find that he doesn't even have a Send To folder. Is this normal?

 

There is, however, a Send To folder under Default User.

It's a hidden folder so you will have to enable show hidden files and folders from the folder options in tools;)

I do have it unhidden, hence why I could see the Default User folder. As for the users, there's no Send To folder.

 

Is there a GPO somewhere that I can have the Send To folder redirected?

Seems you can redirect it with TweakUI, and maybe with a registry tweak in the logon script. Not sure how you'd do it through Group Policy though.

Strange you can't see the Send To folder in the usual place. Could try searching the local machine for it, or the floppy shortcut it seems to contain.

you could use usbdlm ( USB drive letter manager - USBDLM ) in conjunction with the above and that way you could add a drive letter ( being the usb memory stick drive letter ) to the send to folder that way they can send items to there memory sticks

maybe a short term fix, copy the SendTo folder from the default user profile and paste it into other users profiles, you may have to untick hidden in the file attributes. Sorry it's not an instant fix but it should work

quick way to get to your send to type shell:sendto in to the address bar...

dead usefull for pasting custom shortcuts in like notepad and wordpad and photoshop etc..
