What do you do with your dead bulbs?

we currently have a large box filled with them, we are reluctant to dispose of them into normal landfill because of the enviromental issues

cheers

When I purchased lamps in the past they have generally sent return envelopes for Free Postage of the dead lamps. I think these were from Lamp House. If you speak to them, they may take the lamps of your hands - but they may try and flog you the lamps also!

You must not landfill them, they contain mercury and need disposing of properly. I keep mine in a box until the summer, and the company that collects our old machines (under the WEEE directive) takes them.

I think we've just been binning ours... I did point out the "This product contains mercury" text on the box when replacing one today... don't think anyone else really thought about it.
