irsprint Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I m lookign for some software free or paid to have a sync folder for when you take your laptop home then for it to sync to network when the laptop is connected at work?
powdarrmonkey Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Let me google that for you Windows' Briefcase, Offline Files, Deltacopy...* *choose one as appropriate
sted Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Microsoft's sync toy and that will msi deploy as well iirc and is free
azrael78 Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Alwaysync is good - it's free up until you hit certain file limits (in terms of size and number of files). You could script it partially - have it check for a network drive at login and sync from a laptop hard drive folder. When they logoff, have it sync back toward the laptop folder. It's quick and dirty but may do exactly what you want Az
EduTech Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 What about DropBox: Dropbox - Home - Secure backup, sync and sharing made easy. James. 1
Crazyfray Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Thanks for the suggestion for Dropbox - definitely a good one for me, since I use Ubuntu on my laptop and XP on my desktop/work comps. Integrates well with the OS in every case - no need to fire up the browser. Now, if they can add Windows Mobile support, we'll be singing..
