The CPU has AMD-V, the NIC and Storage work with for VMs (RAID doesn't work though). You can't install ESXi 3.5 with the CD, but you can put the image on a USB stick and boot from there (there's an internal USB port too so you can hide inside). It will need extra RAM to boot esxi (4GB will be cheap though). 2

We can also include a bios locked operating system for you for an even greater discount on your SBS solution if you need it

ESXi v4.0 provides better support for the ML115 apparently. 1

Take a peek at techhead - They use these servers quite frequently as ESXi test boxes and rate them quite highly for that purpose

Then why do the specs quote: "Internal Drive Support: * 4 HDD Support: o 2TB SATA max storage (utilizing 500GB CTO HDD)" or am I misreading something?

I don't see any reason why they would place a limit on the maximum size of third-party HDDs. Also, given the price of the ML115 I doubt anyone will be buying HP validated drives to go with it since they propably cost more than the server itself. 1
