Did a quick search and couldn't find another thread so thought should start one. Hijacking Alex's slides from the EduGeek conference... conference on 15th July 09 in Birmingham.

A SharePint and some crazy golf at the end of the day would be good idea.

The cost is always going to prevent a lot of people going for whatever reason. If it was free then oversubscription would be an issue

Problem is no matter what Alex has got to cover his costs he is not making any profit on it price is just to cover the costs.

 

Also I am going and for those wanting to go but can't due to cost then watch this space...

Just to let you know, I've added an on-line quote generator on the conference web site now so that you can raise a purchase order and be invoiced in the normal way.

Thanks - but completing it this morning it looks like you can book for either track but not both, does this mean you can only attend one or the other? We tried entering the names twice for different tracks but it doubled the price is that right?

The pathway choice is just an indicator of which one you'll more likely to go to more sessions of. You are free to go to whichever sessions you want, keeping in mind that the pathways are running concurrently.

 

The choice on the form is just so we can plan which room to put each pathway in.

 

Sorry about any confusion and I've updated the page to make it clearer - you'll see that once the web server has stopped caching the old version.

Finally, and also importantly - after show drinks (or night before drinks for long distance travellers like me!!)...??

I'm gutted because there are a few things i want to see on the User Adoption side aswell as the Building the Learning Gatway i dont have 2 of me. so thats a bugger!

I was told today over 120 are going to the conference.

I'm staying at the Belfry the night before so if anyone wants to have a quick drink the night before see you all in the bar for one or even two :-)

For those asking about drinks. Some of the speakers and organisers (including myself) are staying at the Belfry the night before and I'm sure will be up for a drink. I'll certainly be in the bar after testing out the spa facilities!

 

There's a SharePint event afterwards in the Belfry bar for those of you who don't need to rush away. We may even be able to persuade someone to donate a float.

PS Can you give me some transit (bus, train, walk) directions how to get to conference?

Norfolk is a long way from Birmingham.

 

There's travel directions on the Belfry web site at http://www.thebelfry.co.uk/index.cfm/section/info/display/15/location.htm.

 

The closest stations are

New Street Station - 12 miles,

Birmingham International Station - 6 miles

 

You'll need to look at a train web site such as http://www.thetrainline.com to find out how to get there from your location. It will depend on your nearest station. I had a quick look from Norwich though and it takes about 5 hours!

Also if coming from Leicester way on the train I am told it is best to get off at Water Orton and catch a taxi from there as nearer then going all way into the centre.

Did you put this on the feedback form which pas given back? if not it probably would of been the best way to put that accross.

 

I'm sure Wifi access will be looked at for the next conference
