nagios / groundworks - How to add an netgear mib file

We have a standalone nagios setup but was looking into moving over to groundworks however we have not been successfull in setting it up, tis very fiddly

Nagios/Groundworks rely on net-snmp for snmp support. Thus you actually have to add the MIBS to that. How to do so is included in the net-snmp documentation....

So your syaing that have to add it to net_snmp where is that store as search on groundworks folder only brings up the documentation.

Net SNMP keeps its MIBs in '/usr/share/snmp/mibs/' here.

Right added the file to groundworks and net-snmp directory but still no joy...

alter/edit your snmp.conf to include the line:

 

mibs +ALL

Was going to start anothe thread but with 3 snmp thread already thought better add it on to this one.

 

Got to get my head around this whole groundworks snmp stuff.

 

As it stands I correct to belive if just polling a device then you don't need a mib file (that was I was told on groundworks forum).

 

Right second got a router broadcasting snmp packets will getif says it is.

 

But groundworks is set to look for

snmp_if_1

I assume that not sending those snmp tags (can't see them in getif). So assume got to create new profile for this device with correct tags in but what best and easiest way to get those tags into groundworks.
