FN-GM Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Hi, I have bene told by a few people and from the internet that today, 26th May 2009 will be the release date of Windows Vista SP2. Can anyone confirm this? Z
andy_nic Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I heard this rumour too, I don't know if its true or not, it’s got todays date in Wikipedia, i'm getting bored of waiting for it now.
DAckroyd Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 This is the one which does 2K8 yeah? Is it safe on a 2K8 server?
TheScarfedOne Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I got the notification from VLS a few weeks back (think it was released at the start of the month). The two server rebuilds today have been straight Svr 08 SP2 builds as the combined slipstream is also on Technet and VLS. Seems a bit quicker on the same hardware - particularly the MMC consoles. Going to do an inplace upgrade on one of the other boxes later. Not tried the Vista SP2 upgrade yet - but its the same SP, so should be the same scenario I expect.
Dos_Box Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 WOW! Just installed it. My computer seems to fly quite a bit faster and network discovery tasks in NetSupport Manager have flown!!!

SYNACK Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Just did a fresh Vista image build with the integrated SP2 of MVLS and it seems quicker and is certainly less hassle than SP1 + shedloads of integrated updates + shedloads since the last image. Fresh install of Office 2007 SP2 on it also seems better and helpfully includes the ODF and save to PDF stuff by default.
