BBC and Shockwave driving me nuts! Help please!

The pigs have stopped flying and over 12 months of stability with the BBC website have come crashing down...

 

We run XP SP2 and IE7

 

Trying to resolve a problem with CBeebies causing errors that make IE7 crash, I uninstalled Shockwave and installed its most recent (full version) and now get problems with BBC Little animals - Foxy's Dancing game, brings up "Missing shockwave decompression Xtra" I've been doing this manually as I cannot get the darn thing to work. It only seems fair to get a working solution before attempting to get this across the school.

 

I've tried adding SWADCMPR.X32, but accept that I cannot be certain that I have the correct version of this module. This enables the game to start, but it has no sound and then causes errors in shockwave and bye-bye IE7

 

What on earth am I doing wrong this time? Please? Pretty Please?

I've just tested it using IE8 and Shockwave 11.5.0.595 and it was extremely slow loading I have to say. Are you connecting behind a proxy by any chance? If yes, try deleting the cache. It has happened to me quite a few times that the proxy caches bad information and creates all kinds of weird and wonderful errors.

Old thread, but as I found a 'fix', I thought I ought to post it.

 

By accident, I wandered into one of the games on Little Fingers Games when logged on as local administrator... Shockwave said it was installing and I sat and watched bars for a moment or two and since then BBC (and Little Fingers) have been happy for all users
