Just wondering if google sketchup could be intalled on a network or does it have to be localy installed on each workstation

We have it located on a network drive and linked to via a shortcut in the menu to all stations. No problems running it this way so far.

This works fine for Version 6 but not for 7.

 

This prgram is free for education in the US and it says contact your local supplier for details in the UK but i have nver had any luck getting info on this

Especially make sure you meet the min requirements for graphics card

If its any help it can be deployed quite easily.

 

There is an MSI extracted to a folder under c:\documents and settings\%username%\local settings\ .

 

Works fine, tried it on a few PCs. Will obviously wait for licencing outcome before deploying across the network.

Heard back from a uk reseller CAD School and good news.

 

I have checked and you are fully entitled to use Google Sketchup (the free version) at your school or commercially.

If you are interested in the features of the Pro version which adds the ability to export back to other CAD programs, gives accurate sun studies based on selectable cities or lat/long or want to use the features of Layout or Stylebuilder

(Layout allows you to lay out different views of one or more models on individual sheets to scale or in perspective.)

then give me a ring about pricing. The cost per license is only £11 per yr or £19 for 2 yrs.
