plexer Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 So I'm now putting in a seperate mini networks for server backups to the san. Each server has a second nic. All the second nic's will be connected to an 1800-24G in the server room. The 1800-24G will be connected via fibre to the openfiler san. The openfiler san uses a media converter to go from fibre to gigabit copper. All of our machines currentlly use a 10.x.x.x style ip address. What range should I pick for this seperate backup network? At the moment backups are done using backupassist and ntbackup but I'm looking at something like R1Softs CDP solution. Ben
FN-GM Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 You can use what ever range you like as long as it is a private address.
