RBC's - do you trust them?

Just thought I'd throw this out to everyone.

 

As a user of a RBC services, ie, AV,email,content filtering etc. Are you wary that they are becoming too entrenched in the day to day activities of a school. What I mean by this is, say BSF comes to your area and your particular RBC is so deeply routed to your's and other schools that it could simply be a case of 'here you go', you take it on, seeing as they supply and support X amount of all the schools services.

 

Am I just paranoid, or is this a reality?

 

I ask this because our RBC has MORE things to offer us in the way of INTEGRATING our VLE, MIS etc etc included in our maintenance contract, therefore making us somewhat dependant on their services!
