Copying complete system (fog) to another workstation

I have a fog server running on an old workstation which I set up just to see if I could get it working. I did and before I knew it I had it all up and running.

I now need to move it to a better workstation with a much larger HD.

Is it possible to copy all the system and files to another location and then copy them back onto another machine?

I would clone it with my fog server but, well you can see my problem!

thanks

hmmmm

you could put both hard drives into another machine (or with a live os) dd the current hdd to the other. You would then have the problem of having to resize the partition and it can be a bit funky if the drives arent the same.

or you could just set it up again, fog isnt that hard to setup and you would get around all the problems of the OS picking up all the new hardware and creating eth1 etc.... and then just copy /images form the old to the new.

or you could setup the new machine as a storage node, that way the current machine would ship out the Network Boot OS and hold the database but the images would be downloaded from the new one
