TheOneTheOthersCall Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Our goal is to have a few USB keys each with the AB Tutor control console, so they can be moved between the various computer rooms. This is cheaper solution then installing the control onto one computer in every room. Im after information about whether this has been done successfully or if it is even possible. I have heard of portable 'mini' versions of AB tutor, but i was rather hoping for a full version with the ability for the classroom teacher to block certain websites and other tantalising little functions the console provides. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Tah
K.C.Leblanc Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) I'd seriousely doubt this is within the terms of the AB tutor licence. Have you discussed this with them? Edited April 30, 2009 by K.C.Leblanc

localzuk Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) This is possible, you have to contact their support to arrange it, as it involves changes by them. EDIT: Their support site lists this: http://www.abtutor.com/ActiveKB/questions/24/ Edited April 30, 2009 by localzuk 2
TheOneTheOthersCall Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 I've heard it's been done so I just assumed it was acceptable, I'd still have to purchase the licenses for each USB obviously..
TheOneTheOthersCall Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Aha! Thankyou localzuk. Who would have thought to look in ABs support pages. Ingenious.
robins Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I run ABTutor 5.4 on a USB stick and its pretty much trouble free, glitches maybe once a week. Yes they have to swap the licence onto the stick. Its pretty handy to just be able to plug in and see any clients from any box. Grouping is pretty flexible. I think ABTutor is amazing value for all the features. I need to extend to more wifi clients and have additional control apps for different groups but not sure how scalable AB Tutor will prove to be - any reassurances greatly received.
