Does anyone have any advice about the most secure way I can get the win 2k software from? We already have the licenses from a while back, but I do not seem to be able to find any windows 2000 disks. I'm starting to need them quite urgently now and need my hands on one by tomorrow (friday).

Cheers

Please do not ask our members to supply you with software, especially Microsoft. We are monitored and read by many in the software industry. If you can try asking around you local schools, but please do not encourage our members to commit a crime for you.

Sorry, I didn't actually realise it would be a crime. As I said, we already have the licenses, so we have paid for it, but just no software - i'm not entirely sure what happened to it.

I also purposely used the word 'secure', by which I meant the most legal way of getting it. :p

Secondary copyright violation is not a crime in this country. Thank god. So using Bittorrent is fine to grab CD images. Of course you can't install anything and agree to the EULA unless you have the correct licenses. :)

If you want to be safe, or don't have a high speed net connection, people like Ramesys will sell you a CD for around £20.

I don't think he was implying that he wanted someone on here to give him a copy in the first place at least not as blatently as someone before did anyway.

I suppose there would nothing wrong in someone posting him an original disk on loan anyway that he can send back when he's finished?

Is it just 2000 Pro you need or server?

I didn't once think when I first posted that, that anyone would think I meant them personally sending a disk to me. I wasn't intending anyone to be put out of their usual activities that much. I think I will download it like Geoff said, but thank-you :).

Just for the record (meaning anyone from software companies browsing through - especially microsoft :p), I am working for a school just as most of you are and there is no way I would purposely put them or myself in a position where they could be sued by a company such a microsoft. In other words, all software I install on their machines has been paid for and we have evidence of it. Even my six machine network at home is 100% legal, lol.
