Edu-IT Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Does anyone happen to know if EMBC take backups of sites hosted on their web servers? I've just deleted a file I really need and the backup I have is out of date. Completely my fault and such a stupid mistake. I wasn't thinking.
mb2k01 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I don't know about those in particular, but most half decent web hosts do. Give them a call
russdev Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I would hope so and embc contract says data should never be lost. Will they restore it is another matter. Russ
Edu-IT Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 They can only do a full disaster recovery restore and that is of all the server and not individual sites/files.
a_monkey_hint Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 They can only do a full disaster recovery restore and that is of all the server and not individual sites/files. Unfortunately you'll find most web-hosting companies have this stance, else they'd be spending most of their time restoring data. They'll state in the TOC to make your own personal backups.
Edu-IT Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 Yep! I don't blame them for it, it was my fault and I take full responsibility. I've learnt from the mistake now.
