In/Out board & room booking system for outlook?

Hey Guys

 

I'm looking for ideas on how to get an in/out board and a room booking system working in outlook for a few people to share

 

My first thought was to use outlook shared calendars but it's not really made for this task

 

Has anyone got any other ideas I could look into?

If you have Exchange it can do resource-based calendars, such a room, in a calendar type system with permissions etc.
