NO INPUT SIGNAL

Hi everyone.

 

I have another problem now, and its happening with 2 pc's. i keep getting a "no input signal" message and nothing is diplayed on my screen.

lets start with PC1. i have changed the Memory and removed the VGA card and connected to the onboard graphics. and all worked fine, i ran pc for around a hour and bang same thing again "NO INPUT SIGNAL" restarted and getting the same. removed the new Memory i installed and refitted it and all ok again, then it goes again. keeps happening all the time. somtimes needs to be restarted 5-6 times before ok. then goes again.

 

PC2. ASUS Barebones. core2. built by me. installed a new hard drive with xp sp2 and new 2 gig Kingston RAM useing the onboard Graphics card. all was ok then started to get "NO INPIT SIGNAL" restart pc and "NO INPUT SIGNAL". restart it a few times and it fires up again. then after a while it freezes like when i was installing NERO. restarted and again "NO INPUT SIGNAL". both pc have an ASUS mother board, though both are different.

Getting realy Cheesed off now. any help please.

 

there are no error beeps when you start up pc's. did a memory test and all ok. could it be a heat sink problem, psu or motherboard as memory is Brand new.

 

Please help. getting fustrated and ready to throw out of window.

It looks like the TFT monitor has gone could be the invertor.

Do the monitors function properly on other, known-to-be-working PCs?

Check for faulty PSU, fluctuating voltages cause a lot of the "weird" problems like that.

Monitors usually display this when there's no signal from the computer, so I'd agree about trying the monitor on a known good computer. The other thing that springs to mind is if the card was running at a higher resolution or refresh than the monitor can handle.

Thats what I said earlier but deleted the comment cos I did not read the question earlier and said that if you press F8 as though you are going into safe mode you can get it to start in vga mode and then lower the resolution / refresh rate that way to something the TFT / monitor supports and then restart and try again.

Does the computer POST when it is not "firing up"?

hi everyone.

the pc doesnt post and you cant do anything like get into the bios or press F8. you just have to keep restarting or remove the memory and re install it and then it may refire up.

cant be the TFT as i have tried a CRT and another TFT screen and does the same.

Are they both on board graphics cards - if so may be the onboard graphics cards are dud and use a dedicated graphics card AGP or PCI ?
