Microsoft incident support?

Hi,

 

We have major problems following a domain name rename Can anyone tell me how to get a "support incident" with microsoft? We have a schools agreement and read somewhere you are entitled to one incident.. could be wrong though

I would look in MVLS under SA benifits to get details on activating it or talk to your license supplier.

Why is mircrosoft are so mean about providing support? You got a vaild licnece you should be able to phone MS and get support. It is readly bad that they don't support their own products!!!

Incedent support is differnt. This is when they dial into your servers and don't go away until the problem is solved. This kind of support is ot 'product' support, but 'Oh my god I may have done something increadibly dumb and need digging out'.

As a service it's 100% effort from their end and well worth every penny if you don't have any free inceidents to fall back on!

Well,I didnt get the chance to try this out, as I had to wait a few hours for the support contract to activate. So instead we bit the bullet and rebuilt our entire domain, as we couldnt wait. What an awful 2 weeks, but we are nearly there now, and we have a fresh domain, so it's not all bad

 

Still in future it's nice to know it's activated and there if I need it, but to be honest I think even microsoft would have struggled to sort this mess out!

Glad it's sorted. If you do need support again it's worth using, I've had three calls with them this year (one they gave me free!). The first one I'd been tackling for weeks before biting the bullet and phoning them, it was sorted very quickly. The second one tbh I didn't get the resolution I would have liked, but the issue is sorted (2008 TS printing), the freebie was me not reading the screen correctly, though the MS tech guy I spoke to admitted he had done the same!
