edsa Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Hi We are currently using Moodle for our VLE. It seems to be going quite well apart from when a student logs in the entire course list appears down the left hand side instead of just the course catagories. When a staff user logs in everything is fine only the catagory list is visible. Is there any way that this can be changed so that students only see the catagory list. As you can imagine the whole course list stretches down the page for miles Any help is appreciated cheers Eddie
apoth0r Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 It will be under the blocks editing for students, you can either show course catergories (the smaller version) or list of courses (the one that sounds like you have)
edsa Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 where will I find the option to change this Steve?
secretlife Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Did you post on moodle.org as well? Just wondered cos I answered a similar query there -students should only see their own courses when they log in not the whole list - are you sure they are not assigned globally via site admin>users>permissions>assign system roles -they should not be in there as students - also, your default user should be set to authenticated user not student. This should then restrict what they see to just their own courses. Admin see categories rather than courses because they have so many otherwise; students see courses.
