What do people think about Stone Computers?

We recently bought a batch of 113 stone laptops and 3 stone small format desktops, and we've had nothing but problems since day one. The laptops have had issues with motherboards, we have had to have a couple replaced, and also the screens seem fragile.

 

One of the hard drives in the desktops died within a month and they are very noisy, too noisy to put in an office or classroom in my opinion.

As far as I know Stone don't build / badge their own laptops?

I assume you mean the laptops are Samsung?

 

Have you contacted their support guys and arranged for someone to come out?

 

I am always suprised when I hear something like this - I've got hundreds of their kit on site and from the handful of issues i've had they've always turned up next day to sort them out.

they do do laptops but they just don't seem to be on their website for some reason and you can custom build them to (internally that is).

Which was my next question has anyone had laptops from them and what were they like?

No they are badged as stone, as jason says they do custom specifications ones. I personally wouldnt buy the hardware again, although when needed the support has been excellent.

We use Stone across our authority and have had no major issues with any kit. Tech support is excellent, as is Joe Shore. A very good company to deal with.

Go for stone, good customer services and no crap installed on them!
