Content for TV screens

Hi,

 

I am after some ready made content for the TV screens arround school. I think people are bored of shift happens now.

 

Can anyone suggest anything?

How are you feeding the screens? Would it be possible to grab RSS feeds from appropriate news sites and do a headlines screen?

I use a homebrewed little framebased page with a java refresh function (nasty I know but I'm not a web-dev). Just allow a few teachers access to a shared folder on the host PC and they can update the photos it displays. Any content I tend to do as am still working on a way to avoid teachers editing code.

 

Maybe some stuff from schooltube?

The technician just created a PowerPoint presention and dumped it on the 42" screen, yes 42"

We have Samsung Magic Info Pro. Anything apaprt from photos will be good

Depends the time you have and the resources, I just created a powerpoint for my former primary school, that was more than enough for what they wanted to display - dates - news - some photos etc.

 

We use sadeo boxes to display content in this secondary school. All streamed from a server to the individual screens around the school.

I have no time thats why i am asking for something that is ready to put out.

Maybe you could use some of the content from archive.org - Internet Archive: Moving Image Archive

 

This stuff is mainly Creative Commons licensed, so very usable.
