Hi

Does anybody use SMS text messaging through CMIS, and if so are you experiencing any problems? When we try to bulk send, it very often says that lots of messages have been unsuccessful. I have checked the format of the number and anything else that I can think of, but nothing seems to make a difference.

Thanks

to much traffic causing lost data, could that be an issue?

If that is a problem, then a hardware upgrade might be expensive.

I know almost nothing about this however, so its a very long shot in the dark.

It appears to be completely random - when we get messages that don't send, we then try to send them again individually, still with no success. I am currently in touch with the Serco helpdesk trying to figure out what is causing this, I just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience.

It may be the SMS provider that is being used by the CMIS system. Typically, CMIS use third party SMS providers.

Groupcall has a fully integrated SMS solution for CMIS which is reliable. Whilst I can't be subtle about it, we would happily provide you with a free trial of the software, if you would like, it would help you get to the bottom of the problem.

Hi all,

I don't want to start a our SMS is better than yours thread, but just to fill in the gaps - we provide the functionality to use our database in order to send contacts messages - we don't have anything to do with the actual sending of the SMS, or the account attached to it, the schools sort thisout between themselves, and (as you say) a third party.

If the helpdesk have the data i'm sure they'll spot anything that might be wrong with it.

Also, if you did try groupcall and still got the errors, you'd know it was definately the third party provider, as that's theonly thing that's changed.

If Groupcall still fails, it has to be the numbers.
