WDS - The system cannot find the file specified

I am getting this error when WDS trys to uplaod the image to the server.

I have read about and people are saying that it is due to low space in the REMINST share, also i noticed that in a thread here someone connected it to a gig switch and it worked fine.

The thing is we have plenty of space on the server and the port i am plugged into is connected to a gig switch.

Has anyone had and fixed this problem?

Thanks

How much memory does the PC have and is it limited to one type of PC?

I've had problems in the past trying to get by on 256MB machines uploading images then downloading, would not work unless I added another 256MB.

MS say minimum is 512MB for a client. (I think the machines I was using at the time had shared video mem as well so not exactly 512MB...)

Cant remember what the error message was, although it was completely unrelated to the actual issue!!

you really need 512mb+ ram if using WDS to capture images & upload them to a server.

i have got around it by capturing the image to the local HDD and transferring the image manually to the WDS share (via windows explorer)

I think it has 512MB but I could be wrong. I seem to remember running into this issue a couple of years ago when I set up WDS in the first place. I have always used the same physical machine to build images on so I would have thought I'd have already had this one sorted - could be wrong though! Will check this again tomorrow, thanks.

I have a thread about this issue open here...
