Word 2007 Spell Check Issue

Spell checker doesnt work & you get the message 'proofing tools not installed'. Have run a repair & even completely uninstalled & reinstalled the software on the machine, but same issue.

 

Is there a registry setting that needs changing?

had something like this years ago when running office 2000 on windows server. The location of the proofing tools then meant that we had to change the rights to certain parts of windows.

 

Take a look at the common files and the rights to the common files in the registry
