Got called to look into 2 machines that wouldn't left-click or respond to Return key when logged in.

(The Return key worked enough to log them in)

Since the machines were next to each other - I assumed someone had done some disabling of something and I just restored their images - no change.

So I tried a new mouse keyboard on one of them and it was fine.

I then just tried changing the mouse only and it was fine as well.

Same on other machine

Just passing this on in case someone sees the same fault. (Or mischief - still suspicious)

regards

i would suspect from this scenario that the pupils involved had after loggin in had disconected the keyboards and mice. This then led you to believe that the machines were to blame and not the users. When you rebuilt from image i take it the workstations were not rebooted therefore you recieved the same fault. When you replaced keyboard you will have rebooted as normal for the bios to pick up the keyboard hence the reason it worked. I only know this from the kids doing the same at my school but obviously i made the same diagnosis as you. I could be wrong in your case to which this then means nothing but never mind it helps the day go by.

best regards
