Citrix Licensing

Hello,

 

In regards to Citrix licensing, I know that for the end-user it's licensed per concurrent user but how about licensing the server for Citrix Server software? Obviously Terminal Server & CALs need purchasing but is a server license for Citrix required as well?

Hi Rob,

 

No, there is no server charge for Citrix XenApp. Also bear in mind that if you are having a number of Citrix XenApp servers to allow for a Citrix DataStore (no licensing cost).

It used to be client and server licensing model, however Citrix have been "so kind" as to now only charge for the number of user licenses, but this has pushed the cost of a single citrix user licence up steeply!
