Education and IT Ltd

Ladies and Gentlemen of the edugeek world (of which I am a proud member).

 

This thread will apply more for Birmingham and West Midlands members more than others, but all are welcome to use this forum to express an opinion.

 

Education and IT Ltd is a tech support company that specialise in IT in schools, because thats were our experience is. This company is now a target for Link2ICT (Birmingham LEA backed IT company!!!!) to take pot shots at. This was evident with an ebreifing sent out on the 6th of Feb.

 

Despite other companies working in schools as well as Education and IT Ltd, we have been singled out for this attack...but you cant buy better publicity than that...the competition letting its clients know that there is an alternate provider...LOL!!!

 

This thread I hope will help realise that in a free market economy, Education and IT Ltd havent done wrong except setup in competition with a company that until recently had no competition.

As per the other thread, please accept my apologies and good luck! But I feel that the positive advertising you think your getting may not be the case.

 

I would say in my opinion that L2ICT were only doing what was right to cover their backsides as you are ex-employees with a name that "could" be confused with them. But there is always going to be some resentment I guess (from both sides?)

 

 

But im sure you wil deal with this and move on and at the end of the day competition is healthy!

This company has been going for 3yrs now. We have never experienced anything like that ebriefing before...so why now?

 

We can only look on it in a positive light, because thanks to ebriefing every school, children centre and any other place it went to, now know that Education and IT Ltd exists. Whether people see us favourably or not; people will still say "we've heard of you!"....and thats something we can work with.

That is strange, im sure they have their reasons... good or bad. But I see what you mean about the advertising side, I wouldnt have known you existed.

To be honest there is similar around here.

 

The local LA team got sold off to Capita a few years ago now (some are lurkers on here) and there is still the confusion about whether they are LA staff or not ... made worse because some things they do are part of work we get them to do on behalf of the LA, others they do as part of contracts with schools.

 

There are also various former staff who operate as independant techies too.
