Hi All,

That age old debate over which is best, but without the hilarious Harry Hill way of deciding.

We have been given Uniservity by our LA for two years.

Now It has been active since sept and not one thing has been added to it.

Not even by me and I do like to play!

It just seems so uninteractive, more like a repository for storing word and pdf documents without that "Wow factor" to draw the students in. Fair enough they may like the My homepage and blog section for a while but where is the interactivity with the kids?

Anyway I have used moodle in the past, 12 months ago and I want to set up one to try to persuade the SMT that before they do decide to throw some weight behind uniservity that maybe they should consider moodle.

So this is where you come in :D What can I add on to the initial install of moodle to give the kids that portfolio that they now require?

I have not found an add on yet for moodle that can replace that and that will be the first thing that the SMT will pick up on.

Many Thanks

Didn't I read somewhere that the next major UniServity upgrade basically was them moving over to moodle, ok, ripped apart. Or was I dreaming?

Somebody from Uniservity replied saying that wasn't the case, IIRC.

I'm not sure what you mean by portfolio but if you mean something like Mahara Home - mahara.org then this can be integrated in Moodle [uLCC do this for example and they also have their own ILP stuff ULCC: e-Portfolios

AFAIK, if you're running a Windows server, whether IIS or WAMP, you'll have difficulty getting Mahara to run. There has been some recent experimentation but nothing conclusive so far.
