Any advice please on how to change the network's default printer. I'm running a vanilla Win2K Dell server with circa 50 workstations. When it was set up some two years ago the default printer running out of a USB off the server was a Epson inkjet.

That printer is still attached but we now have a Brother HL-5130 mono laser also USB connected to the server and I'm trying to get the workstations to pick this up as the new default.

In printers and faxes on the server I have reset the Brother as default the workstations still list the Epson as default even with a new user logging on.

Two options depending on whether you still want the Epson to be availible.

1) Epson not availible: Change the driver setting and printer IP address of the Epson print queue on the server to that for the Brother. It's quick and dirty but get's the job done ;)

2) Epson availible: Have a logon script with a line like:

rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /y /n \\server\printer-share
