brahma Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 (edited) Hi All. I 've just installed Entourage 2008 for Mac on my Mac book and setit up for email - talking to my MS Exchange 2007 server. Problem is, Entourage has downloaded my emails from the Exchange server and not left any copies behind!! Rather annoying as I need to access my emails from various places - not just the Macbook! I've done some investigation but cant find out how to disable this "feature". Anyone know how to do it? Many thanks, Edited February 16, 2009 by brahma Typo

rolfea Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 at the moment we have a web based outlook and Mac suites go though that. Problem is pictures usually overlap writing and and all goes funny.. I think that's Safari's way of coding more than anything. Any other pieces of software which could be used instead of Entourage?

If you're using OWA and it looks odd in Safari try the other alternatives: Firefox, Netscape, Opera, Demeter, Shiira, Fluid. You could google these yourself? Only potential problem I can see is whether these mail apps support Exchange Server? You might also see problems with the way Microsoft implements MIME? In addition you might find limited support for Exchange's authentication methods? Entourage can be made to work with Exchange Server - leastways the latest version can. Something which I have done successfully, but only in a commercial environment. You could create a secondary or sub-domain. Configure the Mail Service on OSX Server (if you have one) and forward mail for that secondary or sub-domain from the primary domain. You should be able to use Entourage in that case as it would respond with the MTAs (Postfix, Cyrus etc) on OSX Server. However I doubt if you could access the scheduling/calendaring/shared contacts facility coming from Exchange? Not unless you can dream up of way of 'pushing' that information on? rolfea Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 tried using thunderbird and it had problems connecting to our exchange server. To be honest, I have limited knowledge of setting up the email connections to the exchange, or the exchange server itself. Still going to try battle though.
