dave20046 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Has anyone else installed this/ have any experience of it? I've installed it but it errors every time I try and start the esm server. 'error 18 when connecting to port 80' 'make sure IIS is not running' I'm pretty sure IIS isn't installed so any ideas? Cheers
sidewinder Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I do get those errors sometimes but after a few attempts it usually starts In my case I think its possibly something to do with it already being started on another RDP session
rush_tech Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Do you use a proxy? if so have you told ESM server about it?
dave20046 Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 Hi cheers for your fast replies, yes I've configured the proxy and entered a username & password for it supplied by the council team. Some days it'll start some days it won't
rush_tech Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 When you start the browser does it open two windows? "one saying the webpage you are trying to view is trying to close the window" "Do you want to close this window"? ignore that the window underneath that box is the log on screen. Log in does it work then?

Log in does it work then? Thankyou! I just started the browser even though the server wasn't running and it showed me exactly what was causing it. I'm running spice works. Brilliant, now I can continue setting the thing up!
dave20046 Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 Next problem; it's telling me the username and password supplied are invalid. grr
rush_tech Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 If you give Promissor Support a ring 0870 240 9819 option 1 they can confirm your details They are very helpful in my experience anyway.
dave20046 Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 cheers rush tec - a job for tomorrow now
Sylv3r Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I must admit I didn't use to think this software was that bad, but from experience this past week I seem to be changing my mind!
