This printer is seeing the paper as letter, whatever I do. I have set it to A4 on the control panel, on the server and in the applications and it reverts to letter.

In the print properties, it says that the available paper is letter - and you can't change it.

Has anyone come across this?

Just as a checklist, these are the places I have to change the paper size on HP printer drivers (via printer properties on the server):

  • Device Settings tab: Form to tray assignment. I also first check to see if there is an 'Automatic Configuration' option under Installable Options as on some drivers that will interrogate the printer to find the paper sizes.
  • Advanced tab > Printing Defaults.
  • General tab > Printing Preferences (I think this is the least important one but I do it anyway).

You should also check the settings on the web interface of the printer by browsing to its IP address in your web browser.

Aha!

I did the general settings and the device settings but missed the advance ones

I will set it to A4 now and see how we go.

The problem seems to be SerifDraw defaulting to letter and somehow taking the printer with it!

Thanks
