Strange one this........ One of our users logs onto her laptop, opens up her home folder and is unable to rename any files or folders on it. Your probably all thinking permissions (I was) but they have full control of their home folder and the permissions have properagted through the folder to child folders etc.....

I've deleted the local copy of the profile, purged the offline files incase it was something local and it makes no difference. We gave her another laptop, she logs on and it works as expected. I've moved the original laptop computer account into the same OU in AD as the new laptop to rule out any strange GPs - no difference.

I'm confused  any ideas?

I've also dropped the machine onto a workgroup, deleted the computer account in AD and re-joined the laptop back to the domain - still got the same problem.

The fact it works on another machine (I presume the home drive is mapped?), it would rule out permissions and indeed profiles. It could possibly be registry related. Can you not re-image the laptop?
